Designing and developing the online presence for an educational travel company’s loyalty club is no easy feat. Doing so in a little over two months is even more of a challenge.
The American Council for International Studies (ACIS) is a leading provider of educational travel for high schools, sport teams, and music ensembles. Looking to improve customer retention they asked Two by Sixteen to design their World Traveler Rewards Loyalty Program website.
With multiple levels, company divisions, and ways to earn points, understanding the loyalty program is no easy feat for ACIS users. Two by Sixteen facilitated a user experience brainstorm with team members from ACIS’ marketing, operations and IT departments, to understand the key areas of complexity and map user journeys. We used those insights to create a set of wireframes that made navigating and understanding the program intuitive for users.
The resulting website’s visual direction is clean yet engaging. This is achieved through the use of typographic hierarchy, refined color palette, iconography, and considered use of photography. The openness also allows users to navigate the program data without unnecessary distraction.
A complex UX challenge, a need for a refreshed visual design, and a fast turn around time—all could have derailed a project such as this. We delivered not only on time and budget, but also a solution that was well received by ACIS and their customers.
